Our Services | Consultations & Management | Patient Testimonials
Our commitment to patient care begins prior to surgery with a physician consultation to determine the expected needs of the patient. Anatomical Designs LLC is committed to a successful outcome of the amputee patients that we serve. To that end, we believe that patient care begins prior to amputation surgery with a patient and physician consultation. This is done to determine each amputee’s post operative needs and to plan for post operative pre-prosthetic care and training.
Pre-operative and pre-prosthetic consultations to patients, physicians, physical therapists and family members help to promote continuity in a patients care. As well as to address commonly asked questions such as, “Will it hurt to walk?” and “What will I be able to do with a prosthesis?”
A one-to-one consultation is also made with the patient and their family members to provide a better understanding of the pre- and post-operative treatment plan. The consultation helps patients gain insight into the prosthetic fitting process and what patients can expect afterwards. Particularly, how quickly can you restore normal function and get back to enjoying the things you love doing.
Pre-prosthetic care includes: Rigid Removal Dressings (RRD) and initial post-operative prosthesis (IPOPS). These protocols help to protect, shrink, shape and desensitize the residual limb in preparation of prosthetic fitting.
Once Anatomical Designs LLC has provided a well fitting and functional prosthesis our clinicians will provide basic gait training in relationship to prosthetic componentry fit to provide optimal prosthetic gait; and advanced gait training on Anatomical Designs, LLC outdoor walking path. This allows for ambulation on uneven terrain, loose gravel, grassy areas and stairs without rails. This also allows for optimizing prosthetic socket fit, dynamic alignment and biomechanics for higher functioning prosthetic users.
